Sparkle Tag Tutorial!

*This tutorial was written in psp7
I am sure you can do it in psp6 with a few adjustments!*

For this tut you will need:

1. A Tube or graphic like I have used,
you can use the one I have used by clicking HERE

2. The Sparkle Filter, get it HERE
unzip it to your plug-ins folder in psp

3. A nice font, you can use the one I did
by clicking HERE Unzip the font,
double click on it to preview
then MINIMIZE it for now!

Are you ready???

1. Open a new image in psp 300X300 transparent,

2. Open your graphic you are going to use!
You might want to re-size your graphic to fit in the new image
if you aren't using the one I did!
Re-Size it to fit at the top of the new image
and leave enough room for your text at the bottom!

3.With your graphic active, go to "Edit" and copy
then click on your new image to make that active,
go back to "Edit" hit "Paste as new layer"
Move it up towards the top of the image as shown below.

4. Go to "Layers" and add a new raster Layer, no need to name it!

5. Select your eye droper and run it over your graphic
to chose a color that will contrast your graphic for the font,
Both right and left click your mouse so it will be
the same color for both, Stroke & Fill!!

6. Click on your Text tool, Then click on the new image to apply text!
When the text box opens, scroll through the fonts to find
the one you downloaded and minimized, click on it,

you will need to play with the size of the font depending
on the graphic you used, I used size 68,
I had to type this in myself as the #68 does not appear
in the drop down box for font sizes, if you do this and you have
already typed your text in the box,
make sure it is highlighted before you change the text size!

Floating & Antialias Checked as well as Auto Kern and hit OK!!

7. Move your text towards the bottom of your graphic,
to where you like it and leave selected (Martching Ants)

We are going to add a bevel to the text to give it some shape!
Go to Effects" 3D Effects, inner bevel and apply these settings
then hit OKand leave it selected! (Martching Ants)

9.We need to get the frames for the sparkles so now you need to make
4 coppies of the original image, Hold down the SHIFT key
on your keyboard and press the letter "D" 3 times,
this will make 3 copies of the original image!
Once you have made the copies go back
and click on the original image to make it active,
we will start with the original then go from there!

10.With the original active go to "Effects" plug-ins
and click the sparkle filter you just installed,
it should be named VM Sparlke,
click OK when the box pops up,
we will use the default settings for the first frame!

11. click on the second copy of the original image to make it active,
go to "Effects", plug-ins, VM Sparkle, and when the box pops up
you need to move the "Random Speed" bar to a different setting,
this will move the sparkles around so they don't go in the same
place as the first ones it does not matter where you
move it to as long as it is NOT the same as the first one you did!, Hit OK!

12.Click on the third copy of the original and do the same,
make sure you change the "Random Speed" bar!
Repeat step 12 on the fourth image as well,

13. now that you have all 4 images "sparkled"
we can now get the frames ready for animation shop!
Click on your original again, go to Layers,
Merge, merge all VISIBLE, then go to "Selections,
Select NONE, now go to file, "Save As"
and save it in PSP format and name it 1 (Number1)
it should automatically come up with that setting "PSP"
when you go to save it! You need to
save all these together in the same place,
it makes it easier, I have a folder I created and
named it Animation shop in my documents
and I save them all there! Repeate this step for each image
EX. Click on image #2 and merge all layers VISABLE
and Select None then save as #2
and do the same for #3 and #4 as well!

14. Wooo Hooo we are almost done!!!
The hardest part is over!! Open animation shop,
you can do this from PSP by going to
File/Jasc Software Products/ Launch Animation Shop!
